Then I said, of course, the ability to see things that way only comes with practice, hint hint do your work! Finally, I reminded them to always have their list of basic identities next to them for quick lookup. Not sure if any of that helps with Chem! Reflection (and you do it brilliantly) is a key part of learning so as to see where the holes are and decide on strategies to fill them. No point reflecting if you then do nothing about the reflections.
